Swimming Assessment

A swimming assessment framework for weak and non-confident swimmers. The assessment framework has been split into 5 stages that act as stepping stones for developing pupils water confidence. Upon completion of Stage 5 pupils would progress to the Swim England ‘Learn to Swim Stage 1’. Therefore this resource is a ‘pre-Swimming strokes’ swimming assessment toolkit. This resource would work well for teachers of pupils with SEN and primary school teachers who have pupils with low water confidence.

Swimming Plans for TA's

This resource has been made for teaching assistants working with weaker swimmers within a whole group set-up. The plans are two individuals lesson. One lesson is aimed at a student with a fear of submerging their head under water and working around this to develop their water confidence. The other lesson deals with students who have more confidence in the water. Both lessons can work well over a swimming block with progressions looking at technique refinement and increasing distance. Both lessons follow a whole stroke approach.

Primary school or SEN School Competition (Art, DT, English, PE & History)

Primary school or SEN School Competition (Art, DT, English, PE & History)

(0)
This resource would work so well in a special school setting or a Primary School Setting. The idea is that any students level of work is celebrated across a range of subjects as varied as DT, English, Art, PE and History. This internal competition has been well received by staff, students , parents and Ofsted alike. Each day would have a specific focus (e.g. Monday-Baking) and groups would be pitted against each other in a school to try and win points for their internal house or trophies/medals for their class. Will help with getting students to practice their class based skills in a friendly competitive environment. The outline will help provide a guide to the week and the session plans will help you get the week running as soon as you download it. Would link well with any historical event.
Bashball
GoldSENGoldSEN

Bashball

(0)
This resource is a lesson plan for an adapted SEN Team Game: Bashball. Bashball is essentially Rounders but without the bat or hard ball. Instead Bashball encourages the ‘basher’ to either kick or throw softer balls (e.g. size 4 football) from the ‘Basher spot’. Bashball can happen indoors or outdoors and works well for pupils who may find team sports or ball games difficult.
